Putting it all together. I thought I would get a good start on putting the granny squares together today, but it's going to take a little more planning than I expected.
Like most Saturdays, Jared went online to do some extra work in his Calculus class with Ms. Kershman. He got some good news. He scored a 92% on his Unit 7 exam. There have been many hours of work put in by Jared and his Dad, and the kitchen table has served as a school desk for many weeks now. A high test score is the payoff.
Still life No. 1 is a composition of a coyote skull, padlock, vintage cat candle and a golf ball. Kaitlynn said it was easy, especially the skull, and she is happy with it.
It was a fairly ordinary day, except for when we walked to Canadian Tire and it was closed for inventory. That was weird. The official birthday supper is planned for Saturday, when Jared can be there too. Speaking of Jared, the kid continues to dominate the Magic games. Our only hope in winning against him is when he gets a horrible draw.
Yesterday morning, Georgia spilled the oil all over the kitchen counter and floor. Dusty consumed enough oil to give himself an upset stomach and the runs. He messed himself and had to have a bath this morning. Todd sacrificed his arms and held Dusty in place long enough for me to shampoo him and rinse him off. I felt bad for the poor creature, but he's over it and back to his loving self.
Kaitlynn has the fifth piece for her portfolio. And it is a beauty. She said she was going to call it "Mom's Garden." I would have cried, but I didn't want to make her uncomfortable. I'm very touched.
