Goodbye Ponyo

It's been coming for awhile now.  Ponyo has not been herself and has just been laying on the bottom of her tank for months. She lost her desire to swim. We've had her for 8 or 9 years and she's always been Jared's fish and lived in his bedroom.  The pump went wonky one day when we lived in Cold Lake and pumped out a bunch of water onto the fairly new hardwood.  That was a mess.  But other than that, Ponyo has been a pleasure to have around.   When she was healthy, she would make us giggle with the way she did little backflips.  Whenever I came to feed her in the morning, she would get excited and swim like crazy to the corner where I always dropped her food. We moved her to our new home in Theodore in an ice cream bucket.  She came along with her pet apple snail, who didn't live long because Ponyo's tank was too clean, and there wasn't enough algae to sustain the poor thing.  We buried the beautiful snail in our garden and Jared still...

Sunday as it Should Be

Relaxed.  That's how today has been.  Todd and Jared are on their second game of LOTR, I just did a bit of this and that.  KK had so much time to herself, that she actually came and hung out with me for a bit to play WordBrain.  We have a steak dinner planned and an evening of we're-really-not-sure-yet. I think tomorrow is lining up to be pretty much the same, although I'm not sure of Todd's schedule with the farm yet. KK has proposed that her and I just do some hanging out in Yorkton on Tuesday. She already has to be there for a hair and an eye appointment, so why not?  We've been waiting to do that for quite some time.

Big news today!!! The piano exam marks are in, and both the kids did very well.  KK aced Grade 5 with a 74 and Jared pulled of an 80 for his Grade 4.  What a relief to have that over and done with.  I hate waiting for those marks. KK has been spending a lot of time writing her story. Last I heard, she was working on chapter 3. She sure does love to write. It is warm out but very windy.  My Mom's old chimes that Todd fixed for me are just a singing away out there.  I like to be with them and imagine her listening to those same sounds back when she had them in her own yard. Ponyo is such a weird little fshish. Normally she just looks like she's dead just floating around upside down. Sometimes she lies on the bottom of the tank nestled into a little hollow in the rocks.  She's been acting like that for years, so who knows. Chocolate is just the same as always.  We still adore her completely and get such a kick out her.  I think it migh...
