First Successful Day
The very next day after Kaitlynn got her license, we allowed her to drive herself and Jared to school. All went well, and they even went through Tim's. At the end of the day, Jared was to take the bus and Kaitlynn had a hair appointment and then a date with her friends. She was to leave the city at 6 and she did, right on the button! She drove herself home and we sat down to supper together. Jared told me he felt no different than when driving with me and Kaitlynn said she thought she would be more nervous driving on her own, but that it actually felt quite good.
I, on the other hand, was (needlessly) a bundle of nerves. I'm sure it will be less the next time, and will get better every time I see my child pull into the driveway safely. It was such a wonderful feeling to see her pull into the yard last night. Mainly because she was safe, but also because I was so happy for her.
