Happy !3!!!

Image
It's final.  We officially have 2 teenagers in the house.  That was fast.  Does life ever slow down? Happy birthday to my little Monkey.  Even though you are now taller than I am, you will always be my little Monkey.  I love you so much.

Off to a Good Start

Some time ago, Kaitlynn finished her dog mask and it is amazing. She used a baseball cap, cardboard and her old wolf Halloween mask for the base. The due is from various clothing pieces we found at Value Village. The teeth were crafted out of polymer clay and look incredibly realistic. She hinged the jaw and so set it up so it moves when she talks and the eyes are made out of one way screening, so she can see out, but you can't see in. There was a lot of time spent and a lot of hot glue - but what a great mask! I couldn't be more of her dedication and her quality of work. Amazing. Sooty's bad habit has him in love with fuzzy blankets.  He pulled this one off of Kaitlynn's bed and onto his favourite part of the floor in the house - a part where the in floor heating is always on. Rocks I painted to give to Amy and Ang. Just part of the gift I got from my Dad - Ang picked them out. Elise made me this and it just so cute how she was making everyone...

Pre-Christmas Round-Up

Image
There is a lot going on in this post - birthday, recital, goofing off, etc.  All because, I'm not keeping on top of the blogging thing, but all is not lost, it is just congested. I'll have to another post shortly after this one, because as I'm writing this, the house is all decked out and I have not one picture of it yet. Anyway, as you can tell by the photos, life has been good lately. First of - goofiness, more creepy really... Shortly after this snowfall, a large snow blower for the tractor was purchased, and then the snow all but disappeared.  Enjoying the new landscape. The painted snowy spruce I did for our a good portion of our Christmas cards this year. I figured the blog needed a picture of its photographer here and there, so here I am sporting a new do. After Jared finished his Toronto puzzle (I helped a little), we went on a jigsaw spree. This was the first we did, and we were disappointed to find it was missing a piec...

Surprises

Image
Made it out to the lake again, that's twice now and school has only been out for a week.  That's a pretty good start. And then it was a quick rip to Yorktown to take advantage of the great price on flower baskets at Superstore. Grabbed 6 more! We got home, and what do I find? Surprises! No hotdogs for me tonight!

Forty Three

Image
To be Captain Obvious, I'm getting to this post quite a bit later than I hoped, but here it is and better never than late, no, better late than some far off ridiculous point in the future like once Todd turns 44.  It's only been a little over a week since his special day, but somehow it feels like an eternity. The day also didn't go as planned as he ended up hauling grain, but I tried to make up for that a bit by making him two, yes two special dinners.  I know, I know - awesome wife. One the night before, where we had roast pork and crème brulee for dessert.  On the 15th, there was cake for dessert, but the main course was classic chicken fettuccine alfredo and focaccia bread.  That bread was so flavourful it flavoured the entire house!  The alfredo was so rich, that when it cooled it became an oddly shaped block of butter. I needed a chisel to get it off the plate.  But it was good.  Very good. I'll let the photos tell the rest of...
