A Busy Day

Image
The weather has been so gentle on us lately, but yesterday was the best day yet.  Todd took down on the rest of the Christmas lights, and cleaned up the cold room. I took Bear for 2 walks and took my sweet time doing my chores and enjoying the heat from the sun.  With no wind to steal the warmth, I didn't even need a toque or mitts.  The forecast is showing a cooling trend now, but it should still be fairly mild for a week or so.  It can't last forever, but then again, neither can the winter.   This morning, Todd and I had to go into Yorkton again to pick up food for our pets.  We were just there yesterday to take KK out for her ice-cream treat because she didn't come with us when we went after their piano exam on Tuesday, and both Todd and I forgot what we came in early for.  I think what threw us off, was shopping for fabric to recover cushions downstairs.  We found great fabrics at Collette's Sewing and I have been working on them this aft...

January Walking

Image
The weather man held true to his promise and it has warmed up immensely.  Walking during the sunrise is such a beautiful experience. This morning was exceptional.  The colors were not just in the eastern sky, but rather the entire 360 degree panorama. Blues mixed with yellows turning into pinks and mauves. Behind was the moon, just past full, but absolutely huge and bright in the western sky.       January is always a good month for soaking up a sunbeam and having a nap.  Naps come with or with a sunbeam, but that warmth always helps to induce a snoozing state.             I don't think we've ever seen a settlement built on the desert alone, but Jared made it a first.  Incidentally, he won the game, his second time ever.
