The Tough Part

Image
Everything was going smoothly. Then came the moment, the last time we were "scheduled" to see Kaitlynn before leaving the city. I lost it. I didn't think I would, but there it is. I cried on and off the entire evening. Now we're on our way home and although I can't say I'm feeling great, I'm a little better. This unrelenting toothache is not helping at all. Mark drove up for the day and we enjoyed a nice lunch at Rockin Robyn's, visited a video game store and the West Ed. We had a drink on the patio at Brewster's. I really couldn't enjoy myself after we said goodbye to Kaitlynn though. Oh well. It's done. It maybe could have been done more gracefully. But no one has ever accused me of being graceful.

A Full Day

Image
We started the day by picking up Kaitlynn and doing some shopping for craft supplies. Then it was back to the apartment to help Daryn with Maddie's stuff. She had a lot of stuff, but now their apartment is really coming together. After ordering in pizzas, it was back to Ikea for a couple of things, then back to the apartment to set up. We ended the day with a lovely meal at Lava. It really was a pleasure to eat there. Kaitlynn worked hard at unpacking last night. Her room is really put together.

Ikea Haul

We went shopping for Kaitlynn's apartment and found several pieces - TV stand, desk, shelf, lamp, and a few smaller household items. I even found a few things for our house.

Edmonton Time

After unloading the car into the apartment, Jared and I went to the WEM, had some lunch and did a little shopping. He nabbed many great t-shirts and I found the best Totoro sweater ever. Todd showed up just before three with not so much as a thread out of place on the back of his well planned truck. It was a nice drive into the city this morning and I really enjoyed Kaitlynn's playlist all the way. It was a good day. 😊

Last at Home - Sorta

Image
I say sorta because staying with Grandma Dale feels like home, maybe even better because someone elseielse taking care of us. It's just wonderful having a friend like that!

Mid August Yard

The yard is looking great. If only we could get away until October without a frost. Hard to believe that it could freeze in as little as three weeks. Sad. So sad. So very very sad.
