My Day-To-Day Photos

I did the colourful one today and the other three yesterday. I was on the quite the roll. I got the ideas off Pinterest - took a glance and tried my hand - so as not be a total copycat. I like to do these while listening to an audio book. Yesterday, I listened to 'Breakfast at Tiffany's" and today I started a new one by Kristen Hannah - "Winter Garden." It's an older book, her most recent being "The Great Alone," which I loved. I also want to read "The Nightingale" by her, which has unusually good reviews.

Todd added some much needed shelving to each of our closets, so now my sweaters are organized and a lot easier to chose from! Jared had his Canadian composers recital this past Saturday with Wes Froese from Saskatoon. Jared played Nocturne by Clifford Poole. I love hearing this song every time. I made a ting. a mousy ting. It's going to Booboo's house.

We picked up Ethan and Elise in Yorkton on the 25th of August.  The plan was to spend lots of time crafting with Elise while the boys did their thing - video games (mostly). We succeeded in the crafting department and sent quite a few items home with Elise. I spent a lot of time getting her started on learning to crochet. She had brought some shells that she had recently picked while visiting her Auntie Jonie, so we scoured the yard for a few rocks and I fashioned a mobile connected with wire for her. We made paper worms and had "nermal races". We included the boys in playing a board game every night. Three nights of Carcassonne and 1 night of King of Tokyo. Elise doesn't take to losing easily, but in the end, she handled it okay. We all piled in the car on the morning of the 26th to take Jared to his school to get registered, so it was fun for the kids to see that. It's Wednesday, but it feels like a Sunday.  We're smack-dab in the middle of Easter break and we are having a very nice little staycation.  The weather was gorgeous yesterday and I took KK into town to buy shoes and a new jacket for Spring. We found her a great denim that will be the home for her new interest in pins. That collection started when we were at the farm and Grandma pulled out an old suitcase of her Mom's stuff that she wanted us to chose items from.  Jared took a leaf plate, Todd a butterfly jewelry box, (which is really more mine) and KK took some coins and a few pins.   Anyway, before we left Yorkton, we picked up Sophie and the girls enjoyed a fantastic afternoon outside.  The weather was so mild, barely any wind and being in a t-shirt was quite comfortable. On Monday, April 3rd, my little Svester turned 38.  She didn't want to spend her day alone, so we met up in Yorkton for a bit of shopping and some lunch.  We had a ridiculous amount of fun looking at all the cute things out for Spring. I bought her these garden stakes of the pig and cow.  She adores them.       I bought her the mouse, she bought herself the wee owl.       She bought me the turtle, Cruiser is his name.       It was a gorgeous day, she needed to head home to spend some time on the deck with her puppies and I needed to go make these...chichens on a branch.  I made 4 and I love them.       I also enjoyed the outdoors a bit, I set up the fire pit area and saw my first butterfly.  It really was the perfect day.
