Simple Days

Ahhh, the start of mid-winter break.  Began it with finding KK's Mp3 player, (under her bed) and saved us all from a very grumpy teenager for the rest of the week.  Go Mom!  Even before that, I ran into Yorkton and picked out some gifts for everyone and what turned out to be a fantastic movie - "Arrival" with Amy Adams.  We all loved it and I created a delicious pizza to with it, the key ingredient being the homemade sauce.  Yummy yum yums. Yes, it has been a good start.  It's too bad that Todd had to be at the farm today, but as long as he's home early for our evening, then all is right with the world.

I took Bear for a walk this morning.  The weather is still very mild and all the snow had melted off the pond, so there was actually some color to it.  With the bits of the snow here and there, and the reflecting light blue, it looked like a little bit of sky right there on the ground.

It seems I just can't handle the late hours that my family prefers.  So last night after I was in bed, Todd began to teach Jared to play LOTR.  He's loving it, and intends to get much better.  He's been working on it all day.  That boy and his games.

We had gone into Yorkton on the 15th, I had my crown put on which worked out very nicely indeed, and we headed over to Walmart to find that they had bouquets of flowers marked down to under $4 a bunch, so I picked up a few.  I also grabbed a couple boxes of chocolates for the kids.  I think we should always celebrate Valentines the day after, way less expensive this way.  So I get home, and am working with these flowers, and there is this god-awful stink coming from them. At first I'm thinking it is a few rotten leaves, but with a little more investigation, I find that it these dainty, quite pretty purple sprigs. Nasty! I take them and throw them away, but not before pulling one over on the kids.  I had myself a good giggle at the way they reacted to the flowers that smelled like stale urine.  Yep, they were that gross.  The chocolates however, were divine.

It doesn't matter what I do, I cannot get this photo to load right-side-up!  Weirded out.

Isn't Crushy cute?  He so enjoys a pillow.  He thinks he is peoples.

Mostly Kaitlynn has been working on here writing, or animating or drawing, and she had some piano theory to do, but she did take the time to come for a walk with me though.  It was even nicer weather than this morning.

Here's a gorgeous photo showing Todd at what he likes best, eating.  Especially eating sugar and there goes the rest of the Valentines cake I made.  That cream cheese frosting was delicious!

I almost forgot!  I had a conversation with the cutest guy in Yorkton yesterday.  He was just standing there in the parking lot, and he didn't run away when he saw me coming.  He even let me take his picture as proof!
