Start of Summer

I told Jared we would try to get out to the beach yesterday, and so we did. Work all done and picnic packed, it was after 5 when we arrived. Kids had a swim, and we enjoyed the shade just off the beach. Ice cream cones for the ride home wrapped up our little jaunt.




Today, we enjoyed our customary Ostapovitch get together for Lorretta's birthday. It turned out to be a nice evening for a weiner roast.

Amy called this morning to tell me that our cousin Louis Roebuck passed away last night and if that wasn't awful enough, cousin Todd has MS. This news loomed over me all day and made me feel heavy.

Truck Rides

 I was feeling low, so I headed out to the elevator to ride with Todd.  Somehow,  we missed each other while the truck was still inside,  and he drove off without me. I caught him in the parking lot, though.  Most of the snow has melted. The countryside is in a dreary state, but it's exciting to know that the green is coming soon. I expected to see more water standing and running in the ditches, but it's already gone.
