Harvest Begins

Here's Big Daddy O out on his swather for the first time this year, and so it starts - Harvest. The busiest, and favourite time of the year. We kicked it off right and had our first field picnic. I even baked bread this morning for the special occasion and everyone wanted peanut butter because apparently that is how you serve fresh bread.

The kiddos did some work cleaning up around the driveway and helped picked a few weeds from the gardens.  It is so very dry out there - the pumpkins are wilting.  I tried the sprinkler, but the water isn't getting to the roots, so although I'm trying very hard to take it easy today, I'm going to have to go out and soak them directly with the hose. Should take a couple of hours.  Oh well, if we don't get a frost, I won't regret it.

KK hasn't asked for sticker paper in years, but just look what's been created today! The black kitty is Sooty and was a gift for me.  I just love the minis she made to make sure she hardly wasted of the rather expensive paper.  When I had a sticker collection of my own, I absolutely adored the tiny ones.

Jared is doing this and that. LEGO, reading, playing on the tablet - his current obsession is with Geometry Dash. He's most like hoping that Dad will get back in time tonight for another episode of Fringe - which everyone has been enjoying. Even Todd and myself who watched it years ago.
