The Start of An Awesome Day

Happy 12th Birthday to our little Monkey!  Today is all about you, Jared. We celebrate because the world became a better place the day you entered it.  You have brought so much joy into our lives. I hope you have an incredible day, a subtle reflection of the happiness you bring to our home.
 
The day kicks off with the surprise of how the house is decorated for you. I chose "Woodsticks" as the theme this year, a special symbol in our household. I made you a felted monkey, (spell-check tried to auto-correct that to melted monkey which would ever so sad) and you fell in love with him.  May he always be a reminder of my love for you.
Kaitlynn got up, and gave you a pair of pizza socks before going downstairs to take in a couple episodes of Voltron.
After that, we'll see. It's too bad that Dad can't be here (swathing wheat) to celebrate with us.  Hopefully he gets home early tonight so we can have the entire evening together.

Truck Rides

 I was feeling low, so I headed out to the elevator to ride with Todd.  Somehow,  we missed each other while the truck was still inside,  and he drove off without me. I caught him in the parking lot, though.  Most of the snow has melted. The countryside is in a dreary state, but it's exciting to know that the green is coming soon. I expected to see more water standing and running in the ditches, but it's already gone.
