Falling Back

Setting my sights on a new goal has my attention focused elsewhere, and as such, my day-to-day blog has suffered some. So get ready for a photo-heavy post.

As far as we know, the kiddos are both doing well in school.  Kaitlynn is as last year, excited and working hard. Jared's approach is less enthusiastic. He really does not like having the Grade 4's in his classroom and now they may have to have gym class with the Grade 3's tossed in. He is not interested, though in transferring schools to be among more kids his own age. He's excited for high school where things will be normal. I  hope he has the same shift in attitude that Kaitlynn experienced.

Jared wasn't really looking overly forward to his overnight canoe trip, but he ended up having a really good time and is looking forward to his week-long camping trip in the Spring.

Our Fall has been a beautiful one. The mild temperatures, it's October 4th and we still haven't had a major frost, have allowed the foliage to turn on it's own terms.  It has resulted in colours we haven't experienced in a long time. It is the year we had forgotten to look forward to and the year to be jealous of in the future.

Plugged combines a plenty this year, and as of today there are still 3 quarters of flax in the fields.

On his way to Ampo, Jared insisted to carry everything by himself.

Auntie Lynn took us for a walk on a really cool piece of property that her old friend has left behind.

There has been a lot of soccer ball action in our yard lately.

I finished one hobo blanket - Jared stole it- and I'm working on another.

An unusual sized army for Settlers. That robber would not leave me alone.

The yard is looking gorgeous with all of my pumpkins and gourds that I have put out everywhere.

I couldn't possible keep them all! 8 shopping bags made their way into various hands in town and 3 large buckets gravelled to Lynn's.

Fernando - Jared's first born.

He's teaching his son about gaming.

Gorgeous Fall colour.

Our kids being weird, which nearly all the time so it really isn't weird anymore,

The poplar in the creek displayed amazing colour this year - so orange.

He decided this wasn't the costume for him.
