A Full Saturday
Todd is combining peas while Glen is swathing canola. Fred is hauling for Todd and Diana took in some of Sunflower and then who knows what, probably yard work. Kaitlynn took a road trip to Regina with a group of friends. Jared and I stayed home and got some stuff done.
Here is Crushy playing peek-a-boo, and if that's not cute, I don't know what is.
When I woke Kaitlynn up yesterday morning for school, I noticed this wonderful new piece of art on her wall. She had done it from start to finish the previous night, and of course I swooned over it. Not only is it a black cat, but it is my little black cat - Sooty!
Todd had to run in for parts this morning and so I accompanied him for some time together. I did not grab my camera, so of course we see a huge flock of migrating herons! I went back later, but they had moved to the other side of the road and were much further back. So we'll see what comes of those shots.
I finally finished this behemoth! A great book that I really wanted to read before the movie comes out. The story kept me interested, but it was the last 20 pages or so that made me fall in love with it. It is the first book I've borrowed from the library in a very long time.
Jared and I harvested the onions today and I was disappointed to lose about half them to whatever little monster eats them from the roots and makes them rot. So sad :(
We also got a start on cleaning off the perennial bed. It hasn't froze yet, and it doesn't feel like it's time, but soon enough...and this way, I can take it in stride and just do a bit here and there, rather than all at back-breaking once.
I was just telling Todd how much the closet in the main bathroom drives me nuts. It just can't stay organized. We'll see now! I've kept everything we need on a daily basis handy, and everything else that just gets shuffled around has been organized into containers. If this doesn't work, I'm handing in my title as Domestic Engineer.
