An Extra Day At Home
It is time to take down the tree. So while I'm sitting on the couch waiting for my stomach to settle after breakfast, (it's having a difficult time) Todd has taken on the task. Everything is organised on the dining table and kitchen counters, and then packed away until next year. The hedgehogs I made this year are being stuck onto the corner lamp.
Kaitlynn is at work drawing on the computer downstairs, coughing periodically but otherwise feeling well, and will likely do a lesson with Loretta over the phone later. The Aunties do not go back to school until tomorrow. Jared has gone to school, which feels very odd, as though his holidays should have also been extended.
Plans are still in place for a turkey dinner and get-together at Angela and Shawn's place for this Saturday. Hopefully I am able to keep this illness at bay. The plan is to get a bit of fresh air, broken up with rest, and plenty of tea, which really seems to be helping the congestion that wants to build in my chest.
Last night, Todd prepared a simple but delicious ham dinner. We needed something for school lunches tomorrow as well, and ham is their favourite at the moment, especially in a wrap. We finished watching "The Hobbit" trilogy, and Todd and I were surprised at the things in the movie we couldn't remember seeing before. I thought maybe we were watching a different version, but the kids said they remembered the scenes, and that made me wonder if my memory is having a hard time keeping up.
This loop for Hot Wheels has an accelerator at the bottom to push the cars through, and they will go around and around for as long you can stand the noise, which for boys is a very long time. Young or old(er), cars on a track never seems to fail to entertain.
