KK Drives

Image
Despite the crazy weather, we had some fun around here yesterday and today.  In the afternoon, Kaitlynn drove herself to Olsen's for a night-over.  The road was rough, but after figuring out how not to over-steer, it was a smooth ride.       Jared, Todd and I took a drive in the evening, moved trucks for Uncle Glen, and moved a couple of trees off the back roads.  Like I said, the weather has been crazy, especially the wind.       There was a lovely sunset as we started out on our drive.       For the first time ever, I made rhubarb muffins. It won't be the last.  So very yummy. And pretty to look at too. Although, if you look at them too long, you'll end up eating another one.

Blooms and Planting

Cherries are just about in full blossom. Getting the kids to come out to the garden isn't always the easiest task.  There is, of course, always something else they'd rather be doing. But not only do I need their help at this busy time of year, I love having them outside with me. I was much the same way as a kid, as the years have gone by, what I thought was stupid hard work, has transformed into lovely memories and more importantly, a skill set and a desire to enjoy life through gardening. I hope it will transform into a gift for them one day as well.       A surprise in the garden by the gate. Crocuses? A beautiful sunset on a drive home one evening.
