The Great Unboxing

Image
It was time to say goodbye to the Sony VAIO. At 11 years it just wasn't running well enough to accomplish some of the simplest of tasks in Lightroom and Photoshop.  So meet "The Dragon," a gaming computer for a non-gamer.  So far, it seems powerful enough to meet my photography processing needs, and it is a very pretty, flashy little thing.  Much love for "The Dragon." Todd photographed the unboxing... Oh goodness, how I love removing the protective film! Yay!  More protective film...That little dragon lights up when the computer is running. Oooh, pretty lights.

Good Morning And Get Off the Roads!

Image
Here are just a few snapshots of everyone in the morning on a school day. Rolling out of bed, getting dressed and making the bed, usually before heading to the kitchen for breakfast which is almost always cereal and fruit. As for the "get off the roads" bit, I am just kidding Sweetie. You are going to be a great driver.  I know this because your independence is important to you and you're not going to mess that up.  We will train you well and in a year or so, you will have your real license!!!

Baby Plants

Image
It's finally that time of year again!  Well, actually I'm considerably earlier this year, but I'm hoping for some nice , early blooms as soon as the weather is decent. These photos were taken several days ago, the basil have since been transplanted and I've got marigolds on the go now too.  The little succulents are from Dale and are growing in the house. We don't know what the heck they are.  They came in a mixed plant that was a gift for Denis when he was in the hospital this past January. I've also started petunias, dusty millers and pansies.

Sausage Kitty

Sooty often stretches himself out to epic lengths, and I think he set a new record today.  Our "sausage kitty" is always able to entertain us. Not that he wants to and I'm quite sure he often wonders what the fuss is all about.

March Birthdays

Image
Forty-two and forty-four have found us.  It turned okay in the end, but the 6th wasn't exactly a celebration day. It was blamed on the snowfall, but the 7th was when we celebrated my birthday this year.  It was a nice day...buses were not running, so we all went in early for a breakfast at Tim's before dropping KK off at school, then it was Jared's turn. Dad made a nice dinner and then, I suppose having to make for the missed birthday, I got spoiled rotten with gifts for the bath and garden. The 15th was Dad's day, and I tried to make it special with 3 nice meals...it's really too bad I burnt that beautiful bacon. But everything else turned out okay and Dad was able to enjoy a relaxing day at home.  Happy birthdays to us Honey, may we celebrate many, many more together...I love you and I'll make up for that spoiled breakfast very soon...

Snow Hill!!!

Image
We're nearing the end of winter, but we finally got some snow and it is not too late to play in it.  Daddy gets to break in his new snow blower and Jared gets to play "King of the Mountain!" And Mom just takes the photos.  It is nice to have something to take a photo of.  The landscape has been so very dreary up to this point.  The crisp, clean white of the fresh, deep snow is completely refreshing.  There is a visible smile on Dad's face as he sees his efforts have paid off...

Las Vegas

Image
We had a lot of fun in Vegas!  We were tuckered out by the end and needed more than the weekend after we got back to recuperate. The only disappointment was that "Ka" wasn't playing. But "O" was not a bad replacement.  We also saw "Mystere" and "The Blueman Group" and we all enjoyed both of those too.  I lied, there was another fairly big disappointment and it was one that we paid for.  "The Avengers Experience" was an experience all right, we all learned (from our experience) to be patient and kind and to keep our negative thoughts to ourselves.  That is, at least until we were out of earshot.  But other than that, we had plenty of good times at the Flamingo Botanical Gardens, Shark Reef, MGM's Secret Gardens, The Forum Shops, The Canal Shoppes, The Bellagio, The Luxor, The High Roller, Denny's, Guy Fieri's and Gordon Ramsay's restaurants, The South Oulet Mall, The Fashion Show Mall, the lava show at the Mirage,
