This is probably the last portfolio piece we'll see. The 12th and final one will be a compilation of sketchbook pieces. Tucker hates showing his sketchbook. I suggested he call this last one, "Acceptance," and he agreed.
I forgot to put this one up earlier. Tucker went to his first concert, along with Ainsley and Mads. They went to see Mom Jeans. Tucker got into this band in his early high school years. There was a rave pit, and Tucker could not resist. I do not see the attraction here at all. I would run the other way, but not Tucker. No, in he went, and he was a little injured when he came out, but not so much as to regret it. And he got a T-shirt that's way too big on him.
I went on a walk this evening with Jared. We made our way down Darlington, then went downtown, where Todd picked me up. We had walked for about an hour. It was the last beautiful day before the weather gets gross again.
I think the kitties missed me. I have received some major cuddles from Dusty and Sooty and now they're both sleeping on my lap. What a nice welcome home.
I forgot to post these photos yesterday evening. I took them just before we left Kaitlynn's apartment in the evening. We had played a game of Magic, which Jared won. Then, we played King Of Tokyo, which Dad won. Then, Ainsley was about to arrive, so it was time for us to leave. It was a little past 7. We got to spend a lot more time with the kids this trip. The time extra time was spent playing Magic at the apartment. We did a little shopping. Delta arts and Chapters with the kids. Todd and I even went shopping for clothes. And, we were successful! It was a really good trip.
We left home just before 7am, and after 5 stops along the way, we made it to Edmonton around 5pm. Travel was good until an hour or so before the city. It was sleeting. But, luckily, it didn't get icy. Grandma made corshy. A ghost dragon drink. They didn't have any dried dragon fruit. Jared won this game. That was my fault.
I forgot to blog this two days ago on the actual day, but I have plenty of time now on our drive to Edmonton. I should have taken a photo of all the candy. They bought a lot this year.
I have no idea how many hours went into this blanket. Just, crocheting away the winter hours in front of the TV. It took me awhile to really get the hang of making the granny squares. It's so easy to miss a step here or there and then I would have to rip it back and redo it. Putting the squares together was intimidating at first, but that quickly got easy. I bought 90 large safety pins and ended up using the majority of them to hold the squares together while I crocheted the columns and then later, the rows. After it was done, I laid it out to show Jared, and noticed that a square had come undone from its middle. I freaked out a little, but was able to salvage it. The blanket is in the linen closet and I'll bring it out for fall.
The artwork is being produced quickly now. KK is feeling the pressure to get done her pieces before our visit. We leave on the 11th. I'll be taking my camera and laptop in order to photograph all of her work. She needs to submit the portfolio digitally.
Keira isn't Jared's first date. As far as I know, that was Sophie. This photo is of Jared and Keira. She is in Grade 11, and is from Stockholm. They started dating officially as of January 25th. We're hoping to meet her soon.
The Intrigue found herself at the wreckers this afternoon. I kind of would have liked to see her in the lineup at the farm. I always enjoy taking a little trip down memory lane when I walk by those old cars. Goodbye old girl. You served us well.
