Happy and More Happy

Happy Thanksgiving! We had a very nice meal on the Sunday but we missed Auntie Brenda and our newest family member, Uncle Stephen. I sent Auntie Brenda a bunch of texts from our afternoon, including several of the pictures below. Gourds from my garden for the centerpiece! Buns from my oven, and I also provided a casserole of buttercup squash. They are not all for you Grandma! Waiting patiently for his meal. We just love having our photo taken. Always occupying herself with drawing. A riveting conversation always includes hand movement. Three deer, a mama and two young ones stopped by for a feast as well.   Happy 88th birthday Grandpa Fred! Another meal, actually there were two with Saturday night steak dinner and on Sunday, a lovely chicken lunch. With Auntie Brenda and Uncle Stephen both there, this felt more like the holiday weekend. UNO! And more UNO! Finally - my cake. Brenda - My hair looks bad, and steals his hat. S

He is not interested, though in transferring schools to be among more kids his own age. He's excited for high school where things will be normal. I  hope he has the same shift in attitude that Kaitlynn experienced.   Jared wasn't really looking overly forward to his overnight canoe trip, but he ended up having a really good time and is looking forward to his week-long camping trip in the Spring.   Our Fall has been a beautiful one. The mild temperatures, it's October 4th and we still haven't had a major frost,
