Cooking

Image
The day before yesterday,  I had roasted a chicken that didn't quite seem fully cooked. So, I threw it inn a pot, made bone broth, and then used the broth and meat to make a chicken pot pie. It turned out to be quite tasty. I have enough ingredients to make another one, so I'll do that this afternoon.

Tucker and Mads

Mads' surgery went well. The night before we went out for dinner at Red Lobster. We had to feed Mads well before his fast.  The kids realized that the clothes Mads had for his Webkinz fit the cats. So, that was fun. Probably not so fun for the cats, but they didn't seem to mind too much. We got a couple of Magic games in and I just had to laugh at the way Tucker wrote out the recipe for my baked chicken breasts. Also, he cooked us a yummy meal of rice and chicken quesadillas.  He made a huge mess,  but the food was excellent. I was impressed.

Fish Creek

Fish Creek is a beautiful, well treed park in Calgary.  Laura and I went for a walk on Sunday there morning and spent about 3 hours meandering around.  This cake was from an Italian bakery and was one of the best things I've ever tasted.  I had three pieces myself.  Mark had a box set of Escape Rooms. We did all 4 of them. We won the first three, but the last one was missing parts, so - garbage. It was a good way to pass the afternoons. Kiera kept mostly to himself, but Foster gave his love freely. I have fallen in love with him.  So did Todd.

Baby Goats

After helping Mads through his surgery,  which went well, we headed to Calgary for a couple of days.  On Saturday,  Laura took me out to visit a friend's farm, where they raise goats. Kevin figured they just under 40 of the wee rascals running around.  It was chaotic cuteness at its finest.  There was also Amigo, the donkey, who was very affectionate and Smore, a beautiful Great Pyrenees, who gave all the love you could take.
