Goblins

Jared has built another powerful deck. It wasn't enough that he won nearly every game with his Atraxa deck, he's now built a goblin rush deck. It has an 88% win rate, and that number will go up, I'm sure.

Bye-bye F-Shish

I did a mean, selfish thing today. Jared wanted the fish out of his room, and I just really hated caring for it. So I learned that clove oil could humanely kill the poor thing, and that's what I did. F-Shish is now buried in the backyard and though I feel like a horrible person, I'm glad I no longer have to keep an aquarium.

Fred's Poppies

Fred told me this is the best crop he's had in years. I didn't catch it in full bloom, but it's still a beautiful sight.

The Last Grad Party

We had everyone over on July 20th, and had a nice BBQ for Jared. Loretta gave him towels as well as money to put towards a piano when he gets his own place. Glen, Brenda and Grandma and Grandpa also contributed for a total of $1600. Jared's generous grandparents also invested $5000 into a GIC for him, the same thing they did for KK when she graduated.  We ended the day with dinner at Arigatos and a game or two of MTG.

Visiting

Our first camping trip since Tuk, four years ago. We're at Crooked Lake, about an hour out of Yorkton, and it's been handy being so close because we forgot so many things. This is only the second time we've set up the screen house, and it was the perfect place to play games in the evening.  Jared has his own tent, and Tucker and Mads brought their tent. I'm naming the stray black kitty at the grocery store, Jack. He's so friendly.  I'd just love to take him home and get him back to good health.  Todd spotted a Monarch butterfly on our walk this morning.  It's been years since either of us seen one. It was a perfect specimen. Tucker and Mads got here a day early. They brought Babish and Nanime. They have the nicest little kennel/backpacks for them. We had a wee jumping spider visit. They're so much fun to play with. And there are little squirrels running around, and they are endlessly entertaining.  The mini golf course was terrible.  But we played all 1
