Garden Day

Image
Getting a straight line with the rototiller is impossible for me.  I try my hardest to control that thing, but it has a mind of its own.  I got the rows tilled for the potatoes last night and Todd dug the holes after work.  Jared and I put the taters in this morning. Then we went on to seed the rest of the garden and Jared got the idea of using the roller to pack down the paths.  So we raked out the rocks and Voila! The tidiest little garden you ever did see!

I Love My Doggo

There really isn't too much to say here. Photo credit to Jared. And as long as I rub his tummy, Bear will let me snuggle him like this for eternity.

Long Weekend Eats

Image
Daddy couldn't make it in with us (too busy at the farm) to pick up KK one morning, so we had breakfast out ourselves. I do enjoy a Timmy's breakfast.  But Jared is right, it somehow isn't the same when we think about the fact that the chain is now owned by the U.S.  Sad. Fresh raspberries are in season, but not from Grandma's yet. These were a good price at the store and just looked so dang pretty on those Rice Krispies. Jared has been my main helper while Todd is at the farm and KK is at the CO-OP, so I treated him to a sweet little picnic.  Sorry about the crappy shot.

Animal Crossing

Image
I often choose to take the backroad past Hardy's in order to enjoy the trees and hopefully see some wildlife. We had to stop for the stupid chicken or more than likely run it over.  KK couldn't resist, she got out to chase the darn thing, but it was far too fast. It just stuck it's beak out and ran! The sweetest kitty you could meet turned out not to be a stray, but our neighbor, Christina's cat, Susan. She has the saddest, gurgled sound that is the result of a bad dog bite when she was a kitten. The moose saying his morning prayers, was seen when I drove quickly to Springside to deliver a forgotten hat to KK. Oy. And of course, I did NOT have my damn camera!

A New Place for a Walk

Image
While on my way back from a stroll to the pond with Bear, Kaitlynn joined up with and asked me to go with her to the "the woods" to check on a coyote carcass she's been keeping an eye on. So we did just that. Bear loved going into the forest!  He was so excited, he didn't what to sniff at next. And oddly enough, we didn't pick up one tick. That's coyote fur on the end of the stick. We couldn't let Bear get too close, or he might damage the bones.

Track and Field

The race Jared is running in these photos is the 100m final.  He came in 8th, but he is going to districts for the 200m at the end of this month.  If only we could get him to get off the line faster, I'm bettin' he could have won!

Mini Vacation

Image
We took the opportunity to spend some quality time together and went into Regina the night before the eye appointment. We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express downtown and had a fantastic dinner and drinks at the Capitol. Brenda and Stephen joined us for drink after we were done eating.

Three Quarters of a Century

Image
We celebrated Grandma's birthday with Chinese food and two cakes! The extra cake was due to lack of communication, but they worked well together.

Seeing Double

Image
Noro has been alone for awhile now, and has been spending a lot of time hiding. When we told the folks at Fins Feathers and Furs this, they told us that Cat Scrapers are social fish and are much happier with a companion. So we brought home another little guy, and they've become instant friends. We also redecorated the tank in hopes of making it a friendlier and more interesting place to live. รณ

Good Things Come To Kitties Who Wait

Image
Crushy sat quietly on the couch beside Kaitlynn until she was done her cereal. He didn't poke his nose in, just waited patiently until she was done and then enjoyed his taste at the end.

Happy 66th Grandpa Roebuck

Image
My Dad turned 66 on April 28th, and we celebrated by meeting at his favourite restaurant, Wong's in Canora. The food was good and Dad had a nice time. We set up the camper so that KK could enjoy having her crew over. They can be as loud as they want to be out there. In between farm work, Todd is still picking away at getting the trim done in the house.  It doesn't seem like there is a long way to go, but it sure would be nice to get it finished.  The fancy Easter cookies were made Mrs. Skehar's daughter-in-law, a new little business that her and a friend started up to fill some empty nesting time. The skies have been very interesting around here lately.  There were a whole lot of mini-storms moving around, so there was never a dull moment. I love when I'm able to get a great wildlife shot of any kind.  That mallard shot is one of my showstoppers and my current favourite.
