Goodbye

Image
While in Edmonton,  I had an awful dream that Glen had a heart attack and passed away. I shared my dream with Todd and the kids and thought no more of it. Exactly a week after that, the unthinkable happened and we lost our brother and uncle.  Todd headed to the farm early on Tuesday,  November 21 to haul grain. Oddly, Glen wasn't up and about. Todd checked on him, fearing the worst, and sure enough, he was gone. We were, of course,  all shocked.  The grief continues to comes in waves, and most likely will for some time to come. There is a family viewing this Sunday and Monday, the 27th is his funeral.  Good bye Glen. Good bye Uncle G. We will miss you.

A Game-Filled Trip

Magic, Foosball, Escape and Carcassonne were what we used to entertain ourselves during our little Edmonton vacation.  We arrived on Monday, and Mark came down on Wednesday.  Mads joined the crew and we spent the entire afternoon and early evening together.  We made a trip to Warp One. Jared picked up a new card box, a beautiful set of metal dice, a couple sets of sleeves and a card that is sure to be very annoying in future games. Tucker also got some new sleeves, a card box and a new dragon card to build another deck off. Mads found a lovely scroll type poster and has absolutely no room to hang it. We ate at a nice little Chinese restaurant on Whyte, where we ordered way too much food. Good Buddy is the name, and we all enjoyed our food. The condo was very comfortable, especially when all six of us were together. If all goes well with the transaction,  we'll definitely stay there again.

Road Shots

I didn't bring any knitting, so I'm terribly bored. Todd doesn't want to listen to a book, so it's just been music all day. I set up Lightroom on my phone, though. So, that's something.  Something that should have been done ages ago.

Road Trip

This has never happened before.  We had to wait for a train at Lanigan. Luckily,  there was some art to look at, because it was a slow moving train.

His First Computer

Kind of an amazing day. Jared was not expecting his computer to be here so soon, but it arrived in the early afternoon and the rest of the day has been consumed with putting it together. The game of Firefly I had planned went out the window, it's so nice to see him so excited and happy about something.  The hair got tied back, so you know it's serious business.
