And That's A Wrap

Image
Jared's second last high school holiday is over. It's starting to feel real. He's almost gone. My heart is breaking.

Carrying On

Image
I'm trying to get some painting in every day. For the most part I've been doing it. Here is the product of today's sit down. It's not much, and it's not that good, but it does resemble the rock I was trying to create. Also, KK sent me a sneak peek of her next piece, and I am very excited about it. It's a portrait of Mads and Nanami. No photos until it's done though.

Completion

Image
This piece measures 18 by 24 inches. For KK that's huge. Many hours and inches of colored pencil have gone into it, and so completes the first portfolio piece.

Beginnings

Image
Nothing exciting to see here, but working on art is progress.

Taking the Time

Image
Since the portfolio review on the 4th, Tucker has been investing a lot of time into this redo of an older illustration. It's coming together nicely.

So Long January

Image
One good thing happened in January, Kaitlynn got accepted into the U of A. We'll find out later, after her portfolio review,  whether she'll go straight into BFA program, or if she'll start in the BA. Other than that rather uplifting moment,  the month passed as it always does for me, slowly.  Now into February and Jared has reached a challenging spot in his grade 12 year. Calculus is giving him a run for his money and Todd is having to brush up on his skills. Without his Dad and Auntie Loretta, I'm  not sure Jared would be able to stay the course.
