Fancy Field Feast

Image
This low fodmap dish of pasta, shrimp and spinach turned out to be quite tasty. I enjoyed it because my diet has been so limited and Todd enjoyed it because it wasn't a sandwich!  After a very busy morning of housework and yard work and cooking and getting out to the field for lunch, (I also baked cookies) I'm enjoying a quiet cup of tea in the backyard with Dusty. I'm not quite done with the things I'm going to do today, but it is rare for me to feel satisfied with my day. There is a quiet celebration going on in my mind.

Mother's Day

You would think, being that because it's the first Mother's day I've been an empty nester that it would be the saddest one of all. And, yes, it was tinged with constant feelings of missing being a household of four, but I enjoyed several beautiful moments today. Todd gave me a gorgeous journal and I spent a couple of hours seeding with him today. All went smoothly, even though the ride was very bumpy. But even that was a gift because my Handsome felt the need to hold me tight against him so that I did not bump my head on the window. Loved every minute of that. Tucker called when I was on my way back home. That was a very happy phone call, as he is finally recovering after a scary stomach bug. I was so worried about him. Relief is a wonderful thing.  And in the evening, Jared sent me a touching email and a song he wrote to commemorate our time together during his last year at home. Incredible.  Amazing, actually. And although I'm home alone  this evening as Todd work...

We weren't sure we were going to be able to go, but we managed to squeeze in a visit to the kids before seeding.  We helped Tucker empty his stuff from the studio for the summer. Next term, he'll have his own cubicle,  so he's really looking forward to that.
