My Day-To-Day Photos

At least I'll get one post done on the day it belongs. It has been a beautiful day. Todd and Glen are working on getting the peas off. It will likely be a late night because of the forecast for rain tomorrow. It's not very often you see 100% chance. The yard and the house kept me very busy today and I am sure there won't be much time for daydreaming once my head hits the pillow. I did try to take a break and do some reading, but Sooty figured he needed attention. Jared and I went on a pumpkin hunt this morning after trimming off a bunch of excess vines. We got a few surprises, including maybe the biggest Jack-of-all-trades I've ever grown. It's going to make a beauty of a jack-o' lantern. Kaitlynn worked all day yesterday and all day today, and she is booked to work the stat all day tomorrow which is great for goal of saving money to move out next year. I could hardly believe my eyes when Dale and Denis drove into our yard on Friday afternoon. Later that evening I was still in disbelief that I was visiting with Dale in my own living room. We had a great visit and even celebrated Denis's 77th birthday on Saturday with a steak dinner and an ice cream cake.  On Sunday morning they left, and it turned out to be a beautiful afternoon, so the kiddos went to the greenhouse to contribute to the Halloween display.

It's the exact same scene twice a day, first when they come in from the garage in the morning and again in the middle of the afternoon. We, myself and the the 3 kitties head to the bathroom where Sooty gets fed. There he does his little dance against the door frame and I gush over him every time because this never gets old, then I feed him and call Crush and Georgia to follow. Georgia is usually way ahead while Crush usually needs more coaxing and time to lick the showers edge. Once in the  kitchen, it is Georgia's turn. She always points with her nose to her empty bowl, showing me where to put her food, which is very helpful. Crushy watches closely and then quickly turns around and meows until his bowl gets the same treatment.  At about 2pm, they all congregate in the kitchen. Sooty often making weird noises and everyone staring at me until the above procedure us repeated. Everyday. And I look forward to these 3 goofballs everyday.

Bear had to make his yearly trip to the vet this morning, and he did a good job. I can hardly believe he's nearly 7 years old already. The vet says that is very old for a dog his size. But we feel he is very healthy and don't think of him as old.  And then there are these kitties. Sooty is so weird. This little gathering happens in the kitchen everyday at about 2pm. They just sit and stare at me until I feed them. Sooty makes really strange noises to get my attention. It's alwaua entertaining.

Sooty often stretches himself out to epic lengths, and I think he set a new record today.  Our "sausage kitty" is always able to entertain us. Not that he wants to and I'm quite sure he often wonders what the fuss is all about.

Some time ago, Kaitlynn finished her dog mask and it is amazing. She used a baseball cap, cardboard and her old wolf Halloween mask for the base. The due is from various clothing pieces we found at Value Village. The teeth were crafted out of polymer clay and look incredibly realistic. She hinged the jaw and so set it up so it moves when she talks and the eyes are made out of one way screening, so she can see out, but you can't see in. There was a lot of time spent and a lot of hot glue - but what a great mask! I couldn't be more of her dedication and her quality of work. Amazing. Sooty's bad habit has him in love with fuzzy blankets.  He pulled this one off of Kaitlynn's bed and onto his favourite part of the floor in the house - a part where the in floor heating is always on. Rocks I painted to give to Amy and Ang. Just part of the gift I got from my Dad - Ang picked them out. Elise made me this and it just so cute how she was making everyone...

Stephen and Loretta came home feeling sick,  Brenda was sick the next day, and Mom the next. By boxing day, I went down and today is my worst day yet. Lethargy and a runny nose being the main symptoms. But we still had a lovely Christmas.  I'll let the pictures tell the story. Made this house for the farm. Georgia wanted to open this one. Collected photos from the past to make place cards for the farm table. Bear enjoying his giant bone. A stroke inducing puzzle - but finished in two days. Goof. Exit The Game KK absolutely obsessed with her furry dog head project. Sooty felt he deserved a blanket on the heated floor, so he dragged one down for himself. A lovely puzzle to work on. Jared had two roles in the play this year, so was on stage a lot! Our family photo that we sent out with the cards.
